Byerwen Coal Project
The Byerwen Coal Project is located 20 kilometres west of Glenden in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Once operational the Byerwen Mine will produce up to 10 million tonnes of hard coking coal per year.
Coal from the Byerwen Mine will be railed to Abbot Point Coal Terminal for export.
Byerwen Coal was granted the mining leases required for the project in May 2017 and the Byerwen Joint Venture has approved construction of the project. Initial contracts have been awarded and contractors have mobilised to site.
Byerwen Coal is committed to maximising local content outcomes and is working with the Queensland Department of State Development on future supplier events and development programs. If you are interested in supply opportunities please complete this survey.
